Teeth and Gums

Plaque

Plaque is a bacterial coating of the teeth that is considered to be the cause of dental caries and periodontosis. Put 1 to 2 drops of grapefruit seed extract on the moistened toothbrush and extensively brush the teeth 3 times a day. The grapefruit seed extract toothpaste available commercially can also be used for this purpose. Additionally put 5 to 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract into the water you use to rinse after brushing your teeth. To clean the spaces between the teeth, soak dental floss with grapefruit seed extract or put some drops into your "water pik." Grapefruit seed extract can be very effective in preventing plaque.

Caries (Tooth Decay)

Caries is a demineralization process of the tooth enamel and the hard substance of the tooth, caused by the metabolic processes of plaque bacteria. Use the same treatment as described under "Plaque."

We recommend that you gargle with a solution of 10 drops. of grapefruit seed extract in a glass of water. This can prevent wound infection and relieve the pain.

Gum Inflammation (Gingivitis)

Inflammation of the gums, often accompanied by bleeding, is caused by plaque bacteria. Their metabolic products have the effect of a cellular poison that attacks the gums. Grapefruit seed extract has proven to be very effective in dealing with this problem. The bleeding often disappears after just a short time. For treatment, put 1 to 2 drops of grapefruit seed extract on the moistened toothbrush and thoroughly brush the teeth 3 times a day. When rinsing after brushing, add 5 to 10 drops to the water. It is also advisable to add it to your "water pik." For severe complaints, you can put a few drops of the extract mixed with an egg-cup of water on a moist strip of cotton wool and place it on the gums for several minutes every day.

Toothbrush Cleaner

The toothbrush very often houses the same bacteria that cause us problems within the mouth. They find a welcome breeding ground in the moisture between the bristles. Grapefruit seed extract is excellently suited for killing undesirable germs and thereby preventing possible reinfection. Put 10 drops of extract into a glass of water, mix well, and place the toothbrush into it for about 15 minutes or even leave it there overnight. Rinse well before using it again in order to remove the dead germs. The water in the glass should be changed eoery few days.
