Scalp and Hair
Treatment Shampoo
Put a portion of shampoo into your hand and mix
5 to 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract into it. Massage into hair and
scalp for about 2 minutes. Rinse out well afterwards. For eczema or undefined
skin irritations on the scalp, the extract can also be used as a lotion.
To do this, soak a cotton pad in a solution of 20 drops of grapefruit seed
extract in an egg-cup of water and dab the scalp with it. If the extract
gets into the eyes, immediately wash out thoroughly with water.
Dandruff
Dandruff is often caused by a fungus of the scalp.
Treat as described under "Treatment Shampoo." Use the shampoo and/ or Lotion
about 2 to 3 times a week, later once a week. After the formation of dandruff
has diminished, continue the treatment every two weeks as a preventative
measure.
Itching Scalp
If possible, the cause should first be clarified.
Try treating it according to the directions under "Treatment Shampoo" and
observe the reaction. if successful, repeat the application.
Head Lice
Head lice are increasingly widespread. We were very successful with
a mixture of one-third grapefruit seed extract and two-thirds shampoo.
(If you wish, you can experiment with a smaller dose.) Mix well and spread
evenly over the entire scalp and hair. Cover the hair with plastic and
allow the extract to take effect for 20 to 30 minutes. Repeat after 3 days.
